Stipple Selected for Ad:Tech SF 2012 Innovation Spotlight

ad:tech has selected Stipple as one of the highlighted companies in their upcoming Innovation Spotlight Series at ad:tech SF. The show is scheduled for the first week of April and will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. This selection means that Stipple will be presenting on-stage along with Cloudwords, Mixrank and Magnetic in the Data and Targeting category. The selection was made by ad:tech judges after reviewing several other companies in the same category. A BIG congratulations to our fellow nominee’s as well!

Stipple Code is Unobtrusive to Sites It Runs On

Installing Stipple on your website is not only easy, it’s very safe. As a federated platform, it is crucial for the Stipple code to play nicely with all manner of website architectures, disparate page structures and various third-party plugins and libraries. This post describes one of the strategies Stipple uses to stay unobtrusive and avoid any unintended effects on your site’s user experience.

Asynchronous Loading When a user visits a Stippled website, the first thing that must occur before any dots are displayed is the Stipple code itself must be loaded and initialized. Automated Machine Learning in Stippled Images

There are many ways to attack a complex problem.  A quick and dirty approach might yield something viable in a very short time frame but the solution might not look at all pretty.  An empirical approach (say, making your decision of when to catch a bus today based upon when it actually visited your stop during the last three days) might require a bit more background work but can sometimes offer a more reliable, repeatable solution.  A purely theoretical approach would be in stark contrast (say, trusting the bus schedule implicitly) and generally works best in an ideal world (also known to work well in Switzerland).  For those of us living in the real world, the reason there are these and so many more approaches… Continue reading

Strengthening the Relationship between Image, Viewer and Content

While its very true that people want to share, it’s even more true that they also want to be seen.  We enjoy watching others in our social networks, we tell our stories knowing that they will be heard, seen and discussed. It’s almost as if we share to be seen. Stippling photographs is unique because it simultaneously creates a new type of relationship between us and our audience.
